Self Aligning Ball Bearing

Category:

Description

Self-aligning ball bearings have two rows of balls, a commonly sphered raceway in the outer ring, and two deep uninterrupted raceway grooves in the inner circle. Self-aligning ball bearings are insensitive to angular misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing, which can be caused, for example, by shaft deflection or housing deformations. Self-aligning ball bearings are suitable for applications where the shaft relative to the housing bore is prone to angular misalignments. Under normal loads, depending on the dimensional series, the maximum permissible angular misalignment is approximately 2° to 4°. These bearings are available in open and sealed versions and inner rings with a cylindrical or tapered bore.

Features

  • self-aligning ball bearing with two rows of balls
  • pivoting inner ring, misalignments, and shaft deflections can be compensated
  • suitable for high radial loads and light axial loads in both directions
  • cage material: plastic; the low weight and the elasticity of the plastic have a positive effect on the sliding and emergency running properties as well as the shock resistance; suitable for quiet running
  • seal: open (without seal); for higher speeds than with sealed ball bearings and easy relubrication
  • applicable fixed bearing property, but can also be used as a floating bearing, each in both directions
